Idaho Fescue · Festuca idahoensis
Description: A perennial bunchgrass (1-2 ft.) with blue-green foliage and tawny flower spikes in summer. Idaho fescue grows on both sides of the Cascades and is a good choice for dry borders & rock gardens. Drought tolerant. Sun/part sun, low water, well-drained soil.
Lewis and Clark collected a specimen of Idaho fescue in the "Quawmash Flatts" (Weippe Prairie), in present-day Idaho.
